The last few months have been hectic and seemingly slow going. In reality the construction of my 601 has been steadily moving  forward.Working with Flight Crafters out of Zephyr Hills, Florida, has been educational and fun. The guys there are very knowledgeable and seem able to handle any situation. The suggestions the make for upgrading engine performance on the Jabiru 3300 have been heeded and this week should be ready for first engine start! Last week we did the weight  and balance and week before put on the wings. Paint is already done and the plane looks great! I have not posted much on this site as yet but regularly read and see all of your pictures and I look forward to meeting many of you all.  I sold my 1946 Taylorcraft and delivered it to South Carolina from Florida---0great flight! Now I have space in the hangar for the 601! Next is the inspection by DAR and phase 1 flight testing. This will be done at ZPH as it is convenient to the Flight Crafters crew for minor adjustments and tweaking. Then to home base of PGD!  Fair winds, Captain Dennis Kirk
