I am ready to fit my cowling to the airframe. The engine is offset 3 as is. The installation manual call for 1-2 degrees. How many folks shimed the mount to correct this before fitting the cowl> Should I leave well enough alone?

If you can shim it do it. I personally doubt that the 1 degree makes a difference but the manual suggest the 1-2 degrees so thats what you should do. It may affect the cooling capability. The Rotax bed mount has a 3 degree setting but the heads are water cooled.
