I was a little apprehensive about drilling the elliptical hole for the pick ups through the upper skin in the proper location, to proper size and fit. Here's the method I devised which worked perfectly: (1) cut a 6" x 11" piece of aluminum from the scrap left over from trimming the skins, (2) Cut the elliptical hole in the aluminum to a perfect fit, (3) Trim the aluminum to match the borders of the pick-up plate, (4) sandwich the template in between the pick-up plate and the bulkhead and drill the rivet holes, (5) install the bulkhead in the skin and the template outside the skin, (6) trace the pick-up tube hole on the skin, (7) cut out the pick-up tube hole to a perfect fit!  This process adds about 30 minutes time to each pick-up, good insurance against an improper cut of the hole in the skin. After the first template is made, the other three are very near duplicates except for hole trim and rivet hole locations.

Sorry about the large size of the pictures.  This is my first blog post with pictures and I'm just getting the knack of it.  couldn't set up three smaller pictures across...will figure out how to do that in future.
