Time to paint fuselage and final install windscreen. The aircraft really fills up the shop when assembled. It's nice to walk around without ducking under the wings.

Flaperon bellcranks installed to ribs with solid flush rivets to keep gap to fuselage small. Used countersunk Cherry rivets in the two spar end brackets. These end ribs are thicker that the other ribs (.025). I had used the original thicker ribs elsewhere in the flaperons and had to reorder these.

So far , I have not made any mistakes I couldn't overcome with…

Jury struts fitted and ready for paint. Messed one up. Had to order more tubing.

Fuel, fuel vent, Pitot, AOA, ground, Nav light, and fuel level connections complete.  Root fairings fitted.

Chips are from drilling up root fairings. I should have vacuumed before pic...

Got the wings/struts fitted and drilled up to final size.Probably remeasured everything 100+ times while stepping up…

Worked all day, got the windscreen fitted and pilot drilled.

Drilled the tubes first, then used a hole finder to drill the acrylic…

Maybe not quite complete. I still haven't cut a hole over the engine intake.

Found this technique for hydroforming on the EAA video "how to" site.Works pretty good!

I decided I need to put drain holes in the skin under the fuel pump area. These scuppers will go over the drain holes.

Here is my idea for an economy AOA pitot. I added the second tube to the Zenith supplied pitot.

My alum welding leaves a bit to be desired....I will sand down the big lumps prior to installing.

Decided to try a naca inlet for the oil cooler. I will keep a close eye on oil temps as I move into testing.

This naca was bought off amazon,made by "Butler", with 3 inch outlet.  $19.99…
