After 18 years, Donna Zimmerman will be retiring from Zenith Aircraft Company at the end of this year.
Donna was responsible for shipping and receiving, making sure the many parts that make up the kits were carefully packaged and crated. Here, Donna works on one of her last shipments, helping Glen (of Hulett, Wyoming) pack his STOL CH 750 wings, slats and…Continue

With Zenith's help, AV84all will foster a community of disabled aviators and disabled aviation enthusiasts that will participate in the mainstream world of general aviation through education, hands-on training, and inclusion, to overcome the many obstacles we face.

Today, November 21, is Chris' 78th birthday. While most of you know Chris or are familiar with him and his work, I know many new Zenith builders and owners are not as familiar (since his retirement about six years ago) so below I am sharing an article written by aviation writer and friend Jim Cavanaugh in 2011 for the "Zeniths to Oshkosh" celebrations honoring Chris Heintz at EAA AirVenture.…
October 28, 2016.
Now it can be told. On August 4, 2016, the $23,000 plywood crate containing my CH-750 kit arrived looking like this:
FedEx had “reweighed” the 877 pound crate as 415 pounds, and then loaded 450 pounds of freight on top of a box clearly marked FRAGILE in letters six inches high. I didn’t take the end off this crate; this is…Continue

I flew my CAMit-powered 601 to AirVenture 2016. This was its third trip to OSH. It’s just over 1,800 statute miles each way from Santa Rosa California.

The inaugural year of the West Coast Zenith Fly - In is now in the books, and it was a success.
This event was held in Arlington, WA during the annual (and great) Arlington Fly In.
Despite very threatening weather, we had seven zeniths show.
A 750, a 601, an 801, and four 701s. Two of the planes were from California!
We also had about a dozen active builders join us, which may be the most rewarding part of any fly in. Ideas and tips…Continue

Here's a video outlining the installation of the nosewheel strut and the bungee installation:

It has become old hat to complain about the decline of General Aviation. We can rant about the costs, how airports have been fenced off, or any number of ailments.
This tract is a little about one of those symptoms, a little about how to make flying more fun, and about making flying safer.
There is a vicious circle, a fully developed spin that we must recover from. Something that used to be ordinary, but is now feared.
Something that is fun, but potentially…
Special Thanks to Doug Dugger for performing the First Flight on my 701 this last Friday. He and Steve Smith flew down to my cow pasture runway to perform the first flight. All Went perfectly. What a joy to see five years of work go airborne.
Since announcing that we'd purchased the assets of SAM Aircraft earlier this year, Zenith Aircraft demo pilot Roger Dubbert and I recently traveled to Zenair Ltd. in Midland, Ontario, Canada to fly the prototype aircraft (that my brother Nicholas had previously flown back from Quebec). The purpose of…Continue
