Guys -My engine came with a bare tail-pipe which I have fitted through the cowl and am now trying to figure out how to attach springs too.  Did your engines come with the spring retainers attached to the pipe or no?I'm not seeing any spare retainers to weld on either. When you have a moment please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!WayneSee More

UL Power Heater intake Vent

Folks -I'm installing the cabin heat option for my UL Power and am curious how you managed the fresh air supply for the heat exchanger.  I'm planning to pipe air to the passenger side tube on the muffler shroud as an intake, close off the middle tube, and then take hot air from the pilot side of the shroud to the cabin. How did you guys arrange fresh air through the cowl ?Thanks!WayneSee More

Good Morning Wayne,
Thanks for getting back to me-I appreciate your response. Just a little background-I am building a 750 and did the fuselage first - am now ready to begin the wings and the fuel system. I was not sold on having to cut the big hole in the tanks for the traditional senders-even less so with the recent posts about leaks from the sending units. I have been keeping an eye on the Belite units and had pretty much decided to go with them to the point of talking to my welder neighbour about putting the threaded inserts into the tanks. However, with your timely post I am rethinking as to how to move forward. I have a Corvair engine and so using a header tank is not a consideration. I am really not looking forward to fly cutting my way into the tanks-so I am truly at a bit of an impass.
So-I guess I will have to do a little thinking-we have a Colorado low moving through our area today(I live just a bit north of Winnipeg, Manitoba,Canada) and it is scheduled to drop 6 inches or so of snow, so I will have some time to ponder.
Anyway, I would appreciate if you would let me know how you progress and would welcome your insight.
Again, thank-you for your resply and hopefully we can stay in touch as our builds progress.
Greg Ross
