Viking Aircraft Engines claim that they have sold 35 Viking engines to CH 750 builders.  Seems like a high number!  Has anyone here bought the Viking?

Has anyone used the new 0-200D on the 750?  If so, what was your final aircraft weight?

Hi Tom! Thanks for the friend request. I am still actively building my Super Duty. I have the tail done and halfway through the flaperons and slats. Just ordered the wing kit. Are you still in the St George area?

I just got on the forum and saw your 2915 friend request so accepted. I have moved to Oregon and still have my 750 kit on the shelf. I have been building a Onex, thought the little plane would be a faster build, boy was I wrong. It is coming along but fabricating all the parts has taken a lot of time. I still want to get the 750 going but must finish the Onex first since having two projects going at once is not possible. Anyway I would like to know how you like your plane if you still are flying it.

That would be great. I spend most of the winter at our place near mesquite Nv. That is where I built and fly my plane.

Tom,
Thanks for the comments. With all the light sport aircraft, I beleve the 912s is the best choice overall. The lightest weight for the HP avalable, a long and proven TBO, no cooing problems, swing a larger prop through a gear box to enhance STOL performance. And STOL is what the CH Zenith planes are about. The Rotax will run on even if you have a complete electrical failure in the planes electrical system. This would not be true for the fuel injected systems coming out on some of the newer engines. There are at least five other 912s being used at this airport, a couple on Kolbs that are at least 10 years old, none have had any problems.Oh yes,the best fuel burn of all for the HP.
On initial build,a little pluming, and sinking the carbs, but really not that much trouble. Anyway my two cents worth.

Thanks Tom,

I guess my wife has reason to want me to wait until I complete the HOUSE we've been building, "pay-as-we-go" since June 1992. It is about 98% done, but several things should be done before starting an other project.

Most wives would have been in divorce court before two years passed! She really has been very supportive, and even is not objecting to my building the plane, just not yet.... (Incentive to hurry completing the house.) I also need her cooperation so I can eat her fine cooking while working on the plane.

I will have to complete another project to raise money for the rest of the kit. I have a VINTAGE MINI-EXCAVATOR that needs restoration. It was very essential in the construction of our house and in my business in the 1980's. Unbenown to me it is one of only 106 ever made during the one year production, and the MODEL for all other mini-excavators made since. MINI"S did not become popular for over 20 years later. I hope it will provide funds to make a really nice CH750.

Hi Tom.

Lovely 701 - and lots of room to fly it in.  I think I'll have a bit more of a chore finding open area for test flying in North Jersey.  But hey, challenges make it all the more worthwhile.

Best,

Joe

Heath can't even see the line he has crossed.  I suspect many more than you and I do - they are just reluctant to admit it.
