About 30 hours of flight time, though not current. I haven't bought any plans or a kit yet, but plan to. I'm still debating between the 701 and 750. I will need hand controls as I'm a paraplegic due to a military HALO accident.

I'm biased toward the 750.

God Bless you for your service and good luck with your project!
It took me a long time to decide between a 650 vs the 601 HD. The 650 has much better performance but I ultimately couldn't get past how much I love the design of the 601..

Hi there,

Built a 701 and flying it currently. Building a 750 and will fly it soon.

If both had been available when i started building, I would of got a 750. Same design, tough, but a LOT more SPACE in the 750... If you are tall (6-2), you'll love the 750.

Same powerplant, same design, not a lot more expensive...750 is the way.

Regards,

Norm

Don't know why you would even consider the 701.  I built one, Rotax 912ULS and love it - how ever if the 750 had been available I would have sprung for that design.  With the Rotax 912is it would be an excellent package - with more useful load and capability.  Remember do not load up the plane with all sorts of things you don't need just to fly around and have a good time.  All I put in mine was the Dynon FD 180 and a Val Com radio sparse interior and not even a transponder.  It is plenty capable for what I want to do - you will never build the 701 or the 750 into a cross country speedster or real instrument platform.  I remember one of the old sages of experimental aviation saying that before he installed anything he threw it into the air and if it came down he didn't put it in.  Looking for a little more speed build the 750 Cruiser or one of the Zenith 600 variants.

Just my thoughts - everybody has an opinion but take a look at reality.  The last thing I drove for a living was a747- 200 F.  After retiring all I wanted to do was low and slow and enjoy life.  Had a C 182 for twenty five years or so but sold that as it wasn't practical and EXPENSIIVE.  These little Zenith Planes are the cat's meow for fun and economical flying.  Check out the pictures in my site for an idea of KISS, no paint, no big panel,

no heavy interior (empty wt 594 w rotax 912 ULS)

Still grinnin
