Canopy material

Reversed Main Landing Gear

As purchased, the main landing gear was reversed to put the gear 4 inches forward (see photos) to help the builder better hold off the nose gear when landing.  I plan to put it back to its intended (correct) position.  The engine is an O-235.What is the best method to support the airframe when removing the main gear and reattaching it?I plan to support the wings under a rib on each side using sailplane wing supports and the fuselage under the width of a bulkhead with the nose gear supporting…See More

Canopy gas cylinders

New to aircraft.The gas cylinders on my aircraft 601XLB are listed at 40 lbs.They hold the canopy up but if I step on the wing walk to get in the canopy falls.Is that the best the cylinders should work? Seems poor to me.Are they not working correctly?Can or should I get higher pressures cylinders?Thanks for your reply.See More

The Zodiac 601XL-B battery removale and replacemenmt

I am buying this aircraft from an estate.The two ways I see to change out the battery is remove the horizontal stabilizer or get a very very small person to climb into the tailcone.Is this correct?See More

New to aircraft.

The gas cylinders on my aircraft 601XLB are listed at 40 lbs.

They hold the canopy up but if I step on the wing walk to get in the canopy falls.

Is that the best the cylinders should work? Seems poor to me.

Are they not working correctly?

Can or should I get higher pressures cylinders?
