Hi Randall, I'm near mandeville/Covington off I-12 1 hour east of red stick. I just recently started back on my project after months of working out of state and an injury to my ankle which had me on crutches. I have my engine (Viking) my fuselage (70 percent), and tail section (95 percent). I just wanted to reach out to some builders in my region for a little cameraderie and support. I pass by there fairly often on the way to Beaumont. I like your bird.

Well highly recommend the transition training. I had the same issue so getting familiar was more of a Chuck Yeager experience even though I've owned 3 airplanes prior. Bottom line, carry 65 mph no flaps on final and NEVER chop the power like a 172 till the mains are down. The excessive drag of the wing and lack of inertial, the speed rolls off fast. If your ever in the SA area holler and we could run around the patch.

What engine are you using? If you add a description to your photos it helps others to understand what they are looking at. The CH701 is alot tougher build than the CH750. Keep at it every chance you get and soon enough your will be ready to flight.

I finished the forty hours today and I'm looking forward to fly-ins, airshows, and pancake breakfasts around the state. I also hope to visit some builders who are in neighboring states within reach. Rest assured, vigilance and continued tweaking are still on the agenda.

It may indeed be God's country but it would be a slice of hell on earth if I had to do and emergency landing and walk out, huh?

Got the Zodiac inspected and certified AW on Wednesday. Now if I can get a decent day with time to fly it...

Glen Longnion from the Baton Rouge FSDO will be calling after Easter to set up the inspection of the "Papa Goose". At this point I can only do taxi tests until he signs the forms to put it into Phase 1 testing.

I found a flight school in Tallulah, LA that has an AMD 601XL and I will check out in it to do my transition training on the 18th.

Have a Happy Easter,

Ed

Elevator Stops

Posted on June 12, 2012 at 9:08pm 3 Comments

There are "stops for the rudder and flaperons.  Can anyone tell me if there are elevator stops?  I don't find them but see that I may need to control the limit of travel of the elevator because of cable rubbing at extreme deflections.
