Well, sad to see it go, but I've decided to sell my 750 STOL.  Started flying last year.  Now has 45 hours TTAF.  Lycoming O-235 engine (115 hp) with approx. 630 hours on it (2400 TBO).  All comps…Continue

Finalizing everything on the plane for the final trip to the airport in a week or two.  I'm keeping it bare aluminum for now and only painting the fiberglass (doors, wing tips, etc) parts, probably…Continue

Hello,
I am needing some info on install of cowling on my 601xl. Has same firewall as your 750.
The fit on mine is horrible. Zenith has been no help.
Seems to be about 4 inches too wide at the rear of the lower cowling.
Thanks

Thought the plane was sold?

Let me know if you have anything you want to unload when all is said and done.

Mark, I am also installing an O 235 I'm partially through my kit and I purchased two o 235 engines one's going to be for practice the other will be for the aircraft itself I have to rebuild both. I could use some information about the O 235 installation as far as the firewall forward. If you have any pictures or information about how you went about it and it's some of the equipment that you had to purchase to do it I would appreciate it very much.

Hi Mark , I tried to watch your videos and couldn't.  Said they were private. I had watched some before.  trying to decide if I will use my O-235 or not.

Ho MARK,
BEfore you take the Slats off make sure you add VGs to the main wing...Stoolspeed do not advocate flying the 701/750 wihtout either the Slars or the VGs.

Hi Mark,

Getting the Steel Bungee from Viking should be pretty fast now. Mine took almost 3 months mainly due to the fact that the Steel Bungee was made for the CH750 and Viking tought that the CH701 could use the same design. Not so, the nosegear leg is different; they had to redesign some parts and have machine work done to make the Steel Bungee fit the CH701.

I would think that getting either a CH701 or a CH750 SB would be quite fast now ; a month or so between payment, clearing  and mail...

Regards,

Norm

Mark,

I have a 750 with a 0-320 flying now and have dealt with this issue also.  I made a few mods to help plus modified my operating procedures.  It would be best if we could speak about these issues on the phone.  Give me a call when you can.

Hello, Mark

Thanks for the comments on my avionics project.

As with anything else, you can pay a small fortune for what you want.

The guys at MP3car recommended a screen in the US$1,200 range, and a second option for US$600:

http://store.mp3car.com/products/inelmatic-industrial-10-4-tft-sunlight-readable-touch-screen-monitor-xf1000

http://store.mp3car.com/products/sunlight-readable-7-touchscreen-monitor-lilliput-669gl-70np-c-t

Yesterday I found option 2 (Lilliput 669 GL) for ~US$300 - and, if I don't mind a "naked" monitor, less than US$200. It was a matter of finding the one without the stuff I do not need (transreflective touch screen, for one).

Good luck with your project, I see you are almost there.

Regards from Montreal

Carlos

Hi Mark,

I used Epoxy paint and primer. The paint is REAL good. Sticks to the primer VERY WELL.

The primer on the other hand did not stick to the aluminum so good !

If I had to do ti over - which I will :-(   ...  I'll use CAR PAINT. Easier to work with, infinite choice of color - only drawback - heavy  !

I don't know what went wrong, I did scotchbrite the whole thing, still the primer/paint peels off...

Regards,

Norm
