Hardware

Had to take time out to organize some hardware. It was taking too much time to find the right bag.

Carpet Patterns

Took a few minutes to trace some of the baggage compartment pieces onto some Zenith cardboard. This way I will have some patterns for carpet later on.

90% done, 90% to go

Looking at the completed box makes gives you a sense of progress.  Then I looked at the Home Built help videos and realized I was only working on disc 1 of 4 for the fuselage.  It always feels like you are almost there and you have just begun at the same time.  As they say 90% done and 90% to go.See More

Filler Neck Trim Ring

Used a simple plumbing gasket for a trim ring on the filler neck.  Almost embarrassing to have something look this good for $2.00

Extra Materials

Some extra products you may need for the build are available in the US from McMaster Carr.  The Loctite 567 thread sealant that is used in the Home Built help videos is available from McMaster Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/#45855k27/=zkpe8n ; part number 45855K27 and has worked well on my fuel tanks and fuel sender screws.  The cork for the fuel tanks is also available from McMaster…

Thanks, John.

I have the Aeroelectric CD. I can see the requirements, but would feel more comfortable if someone with more knowledge than I have gives exact details.

John:

I noticed your comment on John Austin's flap actuator switch.

I don't know whether you are knowledgeable enough about a problem I have, but here goes:

I am installing  Ray Allen 301 sticks on my Cruzer. There are two issues: the use of two sticks to control a relay, AND in my instance, wanting to use the stick as the switch for the flaps. I can use the relays that come with the sticks for the trim motor as it is of low amperage and grounds through the relay. But, I cannot figure out how to have the stick relay trigger a relay to operate the flaps.

Is this within your knowledge base?
