ELT mounting

I have the ACK E-04 ELT and am mounting it in the same position as a few of the Cruzer forum guys (beside the belly hatch) but have a question as to the mount angle. The instructions say that the unit should be orientated longitudinally with no greater than 10 degree variation. As the mount is in the rear fuselage, it would have to be constructed with the forward mount bracket much higher than the rear to level the ELT in flight? This makes it more unstable in an impact and I don't see anyone…See More

UL350 instrumentation options

Just wondering what avionics/instrumentation packages people are looking at matching up to their 350.I've been poking around at Dynon and GRT. GRT seems to have some reasonable pricing for complete packages but there aren't a whole lot of them flying around in my end of the rink.See More

Hearder tank or not

Installing a UL350is in a Cruzer and am pondering a header tank. There seems to be a lot of good reasons to have one a only a few not to. The possibility of voiding a fuel line during uncoordinated flight is not a worry with a header tank. A duplex fuel valve is not required. A header tank adds a bit to the expense and has a couple of gallons of fuel in the fuselage.I would appreciate hearing from anybody with some experience and advice with this method.See More

Also John  I'm using a 2300 VW/Porsche Engine(direct drive)... I'm not building a standard pulley, I'm using the flywheel end(the proper end)!!!   These engines are use in Europe and one company has a certified design!   The Porsche engine was used in the Moony's year ago!

Hey John

I don't think or remember what the ohm readings on the iss senders???  I did use the IIC senders as well as the gauges.   I purchased my senders from Van/s and my gages from ACS.  Vans use the same gauges but they have them branded with the Van's name on them!!!!  ACS is the best place to buy the IIC gauges and senders from.  As long as you use the same senders as the gauges it did not matter!!!!

Hope that helps... I have switched over to building the 750 Cruzer now as it came out just as I was finished redesigning all of the mods that the CruZer came out with!

The UL engine is awesome. A friend of mine has one in his 701.

I have a 601HDS with a Rotax 912, which is a great engine.....but if I had to change out in the future I would certainly think about the UL as a replacement.
