Yep, I understand...I'm waiting for my fuselage & wings spars. Smile
Lycoming & Continental are aircraft engines... What I've found out is that the O-200 can be expensive! The O-235-L2C or C1 puts you over a little
the 100 HP, and there are all kinds of upgrades on cylinders...light starters
& alternators...lots of help out there for lycoming!

Fellow Builders/Flyer

This has been a difficult winter for us builders and even for those that are flying. I haven't been able to work more than a couple of days since Christmas. We 601XL/650 owners are mostly in the process of ordering or installing updates based on the Zenith Aircraft engineering changes to address the FAA issued Zenith SAIB. The Zenith Aircraft factory has upgrade the Demo 601XL and they have published some Video of the updated Demo 601XL flying around Mexico, Mo. airport. I hope we will get a more detailed report of the flight testing. I sure we would all be interested on how the updates where going from those builders.

We still a lot of active builders in our area and hopefully they have been able to keep building. The 701/750 forms and blogs have been very active the last couple of months.

This message is being sent out to see if there is interest in having a local meeting of DFW area Zenith Owners/Builders this month. I assume it would be on a Saturday later this month or early next month. We have in the past the meetings where at Rio Chonco Cafe at Hick's Airfield. They are still willing to host us for Breakfast or Lunch but I'm sure there are other places that we could meet at in the DFW Area.

I hope my current of Builders mail list is up to date as I have had a computer disk crash and had to restore from oder backup. Please sent me an email with your interest in meeting and where to meet. I believe the sharing of information and building tips help us all, I know it has helped me and I want to thank all that have helped me from this group.

Floyd

PS Please forward this note to any fellow builder of anyone who you think would be interested.

Hello there;

Just notice you. What's your take from this Upgrade kit? What type of engine are you going to use?

The DFW Zenith Aircraft Builders Group is going to have another meeting. It is Saturday November 21 at 8:30 to 8:45 for breakfast at the cafe (at Rio Concho) on the field at Hicks Airfield. Our meetings are informal and we are still trying to meet everyone in the area that is building or interested in Zenith aircraft. Please come in you can and bring your wife if you wish. My wife will be there and sometimes other wifes also attend.
If you don't mind I would like your email address to add to the groups email list. My email is burbby@yahoo.com.. I know it is strange but burbby is what the grandkids call me so the name stuck..
If nothing else I hope you can make it to the meeting. We need you in the group.

Thanks
Gary Bassham
