I'm thinking of building a CH 750 here in Airdrie and see that you are close by. I was wondering If you wouldn't mind if I paid you a visit to see yours before I decided to take the plunge and order the kit.
I know where Cold lake is my brother lives in Ft Mcmurray. I lived in south Calgary for 20 years. I sometimes go across the street here in Downsview ontario to get into the Simulator at Flight Safety. Good luck with your 701
Good to see that there are more builders coming on stream in Alberta. Best of luck on scratch building. I'm sure that this site and the guys here will provide a lot of insight and help. when they said 650 hour build time I am sure they did not include the thinking time. We hope to be flying by spring if I can get my but back to the garage and keep working.
With 6 of us working together, we have lots of contacts and connections. The water jet is just one of them. I think the water jet is about $300/hour and you can do a lot in an hour. Should be pretty easy to find one in Calgary. You will have to get the desired parts digitized into autocad, as well.
I don't know much about some of this technical stuff, but I don't think that plasma cutting works very well on aluminum. I could be wrong. A simple call to a metal fabrication shop should tell the tale.
