In the Corvair world what have others used for fuel filters?  I'm approaching inspection and first flight and plan to use a Summit Racing 40 micron in-line filter.  How will this affect fuel flow.…Continue

Flange for Marvel Schebler MA-3SPA

If you are using the above carb you will need a flange to attach the SCAT hose to the air intake.  A poster in the general discussion group came up with an inexpensive solution.  Part # 10350-10 at Aircraft Spruce can be used to fashion a flange plate by welding or riveting a flat piece of aluminum sheet to it.  If anyone has a better solution I am open to it.  This is the last piece I need to complete my airplane.  Time is of the essence.ThanksSee More

Rivets versus anchor nuts and sheet metal screws

I am building a Cruzer and have placed the sheet metal behind the seats with clecos.  Considering future inspections and maintenance I was thinking of using anchor nuts to assemble the behind the baggage area sheet metal.  Is this a good idea?  Has anyone else done this?  Thanks for you input.DavidSee More

Winter snap vent installation

Does anyone have a tip on installing the snap vents while it's cold.  I have considered heating with a heat gun, heating in an oven to 125 degrees.  They look like they need a big squeeze in get them installed and they also very brittle.  Suggestions welcome.DavidSee More

Fuel lines

My experience has great with Earl's stainless steel hose and AN fittings.   I get them from holley.com in Bowling Green Kentucky.  This is where they make them and they are slightly (though still expensive) cheaper.  This is WWII technology that anyone can master with no special tools. See the Holley.com website for instruction or see youtube.com.See More

Flaparon counter weights

Has anyone weighed their counterweignts after balancing?  It would seem that this should be a known weight that would not vary builder to builder if the flaparon was built per plan.  There may be a difference on the inboard and outboard flaparons.  Your input appreciated.  See More

Why connect static line?

As I was plumbing my pitot and static line through the fuselage it occurred to me," Why bother to connect the static line if I already have an open static line under the panel?"  The answer is I don't know and would appreciate enlightenment.See More

Hi David,

Had our tech counselor give the schematic a look. He thought it had the basic elements. Beyond that following the 2014 manual or contacting WW would be the best approach.

Hi David,

Glad we're connected; the workshop was an eye opener in terms of the project.

We have a 750 STOL kit in the shop with the horizontal and elevator in work. Also the Piet project underway. I found another Corvair core so here we go. The 3 liter we've started will go in the 750.

We can be reached at 402-274-7530, 402-274-8038(cells) or 402-274-6639.

best,

Harold and Edi
