One of my original Viking supplied 110 fuel pumps is acting kind of strange. Anybody know what the original pump was sourced from or where to get a replacement? Thanks - BradContinue

Cable Tensiometer

I have a OPTI T-60 cable tensiometer that just came back from a rebuild at  the factory. This is a great cable checker for Zenith aircraft, one hand operation and is easy to set with a direct tension reading (no conversions).  It has just been calibrated and has the calibration checking bar along with the calibration certificate.  Includes new fitted factory box and instruction manual. Reads from 10 to 200 lbs. and will measure 1/16 to 1/4 cable.  These are over $1,000 new, this one is $425. …See More

New 'can't live without' tool

First of all this is not a sales gimmick.  I have no connection to this tool, but it saved me a lot of grief putting my wings on. It's called a "handee clamp" and it's basically a clamp at the end of a foot long stick that has a clamp size/tension adjustment knob at the opposite end from the clamp, a real simple device.  The clamp end can go from nothing to about an inch. The great thing is that it really holds the object in the clamped end tightly, so tightly you can almost use it as a wrench.…See More

Confor Seat Foam (the good stuff)

I have a number of 16x19 inch  sheets of  Green Confor foam (CF-47) left over from my seats. This is the high dollar energy absorbing foam used by  These sheets are 1/2 inch thick and can be glued together to make the thickness you desire.  This foam was manufactured in January of this years, so it's fresh. ACS sells these for $30 for the slightly smaller 16x18x1 size, I want just $10 per piece.Brad@ocbis.comSee More

Mr Rawls  I talked to Jan about building  box under the fusalage and putting the pumps and the filters there.  I saw a 701 with a box that ran his fuel lines across the bottom and up the fire wall.  I dint know if putting the pumps and filters there would be a good idea or not.  On the Viking site I saw a Rans-19 and he left the low pressure filters off and used the filter in the fuel tank and the high pressure filter in line.  About the cowl I just didnt know where to start cutting.  The vidoe  on the Rand 19 shows a little but I sure dont want to mess the cowl up.  Thanks and I will keep looking for anyone that has done a 601xl cowl

Mr Rawls  I talked to you once before about the fuel pump location.  I still havent installed them butg i saw a Ran 19 with them in stalled on the firewall.  I liked the installation.  I wanted to ask you how you did the fitting for your cowling.  I cant find anyones vidoes are comments on installing the cowling.  I wanted to use Skybolt  fasteners on the cowl.  I was told I might have to use an extension to move the prop out so it would clear the cowling.  Was this a problem for you?

Mr Rawls  Im building a 601XL and have the Viking Engine.  I have been looking for someone using the Viking to see where they installed there fuel pumps and filters.  I thought about putting the filters in the wing but didnt know where to put the pumps.  I saw one 601 that  installed them on the firewall in the engine compartment but I was told that is not a good idea because of a chance they could vapor lock because of the heat.  Just thought I would got some ideas from 601XL builders who were using the Viking engine
