For the rivet gun nose pieces to "cupped" the rivet head from flat, you can use a hand drill with suitavle drill bit to make a shallow drill and polish this small round or dome-shaped grinding head. Then test the work by pulling a rivet. If the rivet head come out too flat, just grind/drill a bit more.

Good luck.

Robert I bought the Harbor Freight rivet gun and sent the rivet heads to Zenith to have the heads modified. Zenith charged a small fee.

A couple of weeks ago there was a discussion about the pneumatic rivet gun supplied by Zenith as compared to one from Harbor Freight. I would like to know how you “cupped” the rivet heads in order to get the dome effect as called for in the plans. And once again, do you think the cheaper gun is worth while? Sorry to ask this but I’m new and don’t know how to access the archives.
Thanks,
Bob
