A stop over on a one way farm strip with a direct approach over the sea. Exposed to the northerly (tail) winds and strong downdrafts in Southerly conditions, its a fine weather strip only for light aircraft.

hi jock - this looks like a very intimidating strip from shafids photo of the approach over the sea, not much chance of a go around with those hills behind you.

how many hours have you put on JMX so far?

it's good to see everyone getting about in their 701's in the last few weeks, have had glyn and alistair down this way (omarama) in the last few weeks, will be good to meet up with those who turn up at ashburton.

went for the first decent flight in JRT since i reinstalled the engine and mount last evening in company with gary in his trike, and aaron in the rans.
