Test Flight with the new Sensenich 68" 3 Blade - Pin setting 0

Another test flight in the beautiful Swiss Alps with my 701 - Rotax 912 ULS - 100 hp and the new Sensenich 3 Blade Prop.

Unhappy with t/o roll and climb out performance with pin setting 3, 2 and 1. Finally swiched to setting 0 and there we are - approx 5650 rpm climbing out but pretty much the same max rpm with WOT in level / cruise flight.

I like to set pitch for 5250-5350 rpm @ 70 mph climb out. It gives 800-1000 fpm climb. In straight & level flight WOT it gives 5750 rpm @ 105 mph. This way if the throttle ever breaks and "big carb springs" pull to WOT as they were designed I can fly to and airport without exceeding engine red line rpm of 5800. CH750 Rotax 912ULS 100 hp with 72 inch dia. WARP set 12.5 degrees. Setting the pitch higher may reduce climb rate but in cruise the engine is happier at lower rpm 5200-5300 and the higher airspeed / lower rpm results in better engine cooling.
