This being a national holiday, and red being worn every where Stu & I thought a Canada Day portrait of "Ballast Bob" (another known size reference) and his Zenith CH750 C-IKIM on Zenair 1450 amphib floats might be in order. Note - the step on the side spreader bars are not included in the float kit. Its a custom extrusion for this purpose. Landing on wheels is "Just like landing a shopping cart...at 70 mph while sitting 5 ft in the air." ;>)

Another thing float pilots say "Real men don't fly rubber"... the inference being FULL LOTUS floats. I have enough friends flying FULL LOTUS all year (even winter) under harsh condition to never make that statement.

Hey Bob... my flight instructor a real float guy (flies water bomber now) told me "there are wheel pilots then there are real pilots"!. I guess Canada's bush better watch out! :-)

Just kidding about the wheels everyone! :-)

PS: Keep the wheels up to stay dry!

Joe... if you look close you will notice a wood 2"X2" holding the front gear down. Just the hydraulic lines and brakes to connect, and the water rudder lift cable and it will be done.
