An aluminum tube (fuel line left-over) was used to cover the threads where the steering rod interfaces with the slot cover.
The hole in the slot cover was protected with a plastic grommet.
The hole is 0.5" diameter. Eleven "teeth" are necessary to cover the circumference.

Carlos, thanks. That's how I ended up putting them on. Tight fit but works great. Steve

Hello, Stephen

This was a while back, but as far as I can remember, it was a somewhat tight fit. However, the tube is made of soft aluminium, so I managed to "screw" the rod into the tube fairly easily.

I presume that, if you don't have a tube that fits tightly enough, you could bend it a little, or squeeze it in a couple of places with a pair of pliers before trying to put the rod into it.

Good luck

Hello Carlos, how did you attach the 3/8 fuel line to the steering rods so that they don't slide?  Steve
