I traced John Austin's Stewart Warner float arm and eliminated the extra lengths that created the large acute angle. Float positions at the same position up and down similar to John's and eliminates possibility to bind against the tank structure. The left end of the 41.5 mm length is a 3/4 to 1 inch length bent up at 90 degrees to fit into the sender assembly.

Hi Jimmy,

Yes, that wire is a section of welding rod about the same diameter as the SW galvanize colored sender rod.  I bended the welding rod as a mock-up for practice first, then repeated the exercise on the SW sending rod.  I started the bends with the one closest to the float first.

This piece is a mock-up test section of wire, correct? I noticed the other photo showing the wire with the float is more of a galvanized color.
