I hopefully will be able to get a certificate with MTOW 600 kg. However I might have to add a MZFW (around 510 kg, similar to what UK LAA is obviously proposing). More fuel is certainly a good thing, but the 4 tanks (huh, hopefully I will never switch to an empty tank by mistake :D) worries me somewhat...

I plan to get my plane ready by summer next year - I am a real slow-builder :-).

Cheers Martin

I would have preferred the extra fuel, Australia is a big country away from the east coast, but I do have the 15gal tanks. What is the max tow for you, 600kgs? For the flaps and controllers, have you seen this unit http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/electronicsflapcontro... you can set the stages where you want. Your build is more advanced than mine, I would be very happy if I am in the air within 12 months
Cheers

Darryl, my kit was provided by CZAW in October 2005 (SN 6-9790) - they still offered the ultra-long-range-tank-option (i.e. the 4 tanks :D). Today however I would chose the 2x15USG option for simplicity reasons...

Do you still have a long way to go with your kit until first-flight? I hope to be ready by next year!

Martin,
Well done on that, looks like a "bought" one, great workmanship. You must have an older XL kit. Mine is from 05, serial 6161 and I tried to get the 4 fuel tanks, but not available. Good luck with your build.

Hi Darryl
The flap control switch instrument is self-made, i.e. an 0,063" aluminium plate with ray-allen indicator, flap switch and Brother P-Touch labels. At the back the "instrument" has a 9-pin DSUB-connector, so installation is easy and straightforward. I am planning though to make and add a flap controller of the same size, but with only 3 positions (UP-1/2-DOWN).
Cheers, Martin

Hi Martin,
I really like that flap control switch and indicator, where did you get it?
Cheers
Darryl.
