Hi Phill,
it was before a few years, when we flew from Germany to Spain to an us unknown airfield. As glider
flyer we can't have approach charts from all airfields. From air we saw a hard and a green airstrip. We get no answer to our position reports. Because our glider is heavy we decided to land on the hard airstrip. When we have reduced our speed after the landing we leave the airstrip and went into the green. So the runway is free for motor powered airplanes. But we don't know about and we don't saw the Spanish glider, approaching the green strip behind us at this moment.
The result was a phone call at home .... hello, could you come with the trailer to Spain (1500 km).
And listen, it's very positive, when your wife is also a pilot.
