The one piece panel has been cut into three parts. The left side will include the engine/radiator controls, elevator trim and radio/intercom, the center the instrument cluster, switches/fuses/fuel gauge and the right section the fuel primer, pump, selector and xponder with mode C. The open center right is prepared for the Lowrance 1000 gps tilt mounted on the face of the panel.

I've got a pretty similar screw mounted three part panel construction. Works well and makes maintenance much easier as the panels can be removed.  In addition, all the harnesses are connected with AMP Super seal connectors so it's only a matter of a couple of minutes to remove the entire panel with all instruments and switches for service.

So, I would recommend your panel installation!
