Doesn't matter my router table has a vaccum attachment but it's still a mess when routing...

Cutting metal with the router is messy. My Ridgid belt sander that I use to shape forming blocks has an outlet for the shop vac.  That helps keep the dust under control.

Since I started building I have often thought the one tool I own that is the most valuable is my shop vac.
