I'm praying for good weather the first week of April where I'll be attempting to get my sport ticket with Buzz air in Lawrenceburg, TN.  Assuming all goes well with that and the DAR visit, perhaps the end of April.

Looking good Jon. I hope to be there soon with my HDS. When can we expect a first flight video?

Not sure about fuel burn, but I've run it for about about 40 minutes on the airframe and my 5-gallon jug is hardly down at all.  However, most of that was just above idle speed to break in the engine and a few static runs to check temps.  I've got about 9k in the whole firewall forward, but that's probably not realistic for someone who builds with all new WW parts.  I got a great deal on an engine and fwf with 150 hrs on it for 3k.  (Included engine, mount, intake + exhaust, warp drive prop, hub, spinner, starter, etc...).  I paid Roy about 5k for the work he did including a replacement crank because mine was run without a 5th bearing so long and magnafluxing showed some concerns.  He replaced the valves, added rotators and touched up the seats but otherwise the heads were already pretty nice.).

I made some parts myself like the starter brackets, ring gear, baffles, etc., so money was saved there too.

Nice. I remember you now. :-) What was the approximate total cost to build the 120HP? I was thinking going with the 110HP but reconsidering the VW cylinders and doing the 120HP for better climb and a little more cruise. Any idea on fuel burn per hour might be in cruise (have you inquired with people flying)?

120hp, Roy bearing, rear alt.  Wings trimmed and mounted this weekend.  Still have to check washout and drill/bolt the rear spars, attach flaps, rig ailerons and connect fuel/wiring...  so close, yet so much left to do!

Cool! Another Corvair builder! ;-) Rear mounted alternator? Which HP option?
