Trying to paint my fiberglass spinner. Some serious fisheye! Not sure what's going on. Clean air source, lines and gun. Shoots fine on aluminum scrap piece. MEK'd and soapy wash with rinse...who knows?

Why in the world would anyone have Armor All product anywhere near a paint booth...??

Hi David, You are right to start over with silicone remover- degreaser 3 times, then a good epoxy primer sealer _(compatible with your paint - some arent) ánd then try it again. This could have happened from a light overspray of Armorall onto the spinner before shipping!

Good Luck! Larry Zepp

Believe me Dan... I was sooo tempted just to leave it as is and call it good!  Call it creative...

I suggest adding some figures, and naming it something like “starry sky”.....  has worked for many famous painters.  Bad news it it isn’t appreciated as art until the painter has passed on.

I'm not a painting expert, but I had the same issue painting some car parts and was told not to use soap because the surfactants in the soap are very difficult to completely remove and will cause the fisheye.

Painting can be frustrating. A single spray of Armor All cleaner in a paint booth will fish eye paint for weeks.

The fact that it already had a factory primer on it is what puzzles me.  No choice but to clean and sand and clean reprime and try again.

Spinner is fiberglass? If so probably left over mold release agent. Sand and start over, hopefully next time goes better.
