Perry,

My original senders had  been installed for quite a time before I was ready to add fuel.  I had a few starts and stops in my construction progress.  When I finally got to the point where I needed fuel to calibrate the gages and the first engine start, I added fuel and over night the screws showed  wet spots on both tanks.  I also had another problem; couldn't calibrate my Belite LED dual tank indicator.  At this point, after reading all the threads about the faulty original VDO senders plus not knowing if my calibration problem was with the senders or the gage, I decided to do what many others have done - replace the VDO senders with the better quality Stewart Warner (SW) senders and the Stewart Warner gages that are compatible with the senders.  I was just using the initials "SW" for Stewart Warner.

Hi Bill,

Did the VDO's fail/leak, or is the SW (not familiar with acronym) an upgrade.
