Well between the etching primer and Rust-Oleum paint... you should be covered for life on corrosion. ;-P Looks great Brian!

I will fess up... it's Rust-Oleum metallic blue over a self-etching primer coat. About 3 coats of paint & 2 coats of Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Enamel. Maybe a "10 foot" paint job but I'm very satisfied with the results. I'm getting a lot of compliments on it from my buds!

P.S. - they are epoxied fiberglass and are very tough and weigh about 1/2 lb. each. He uses a glaze mold release that makes the outside surface almost flawless. Light sanding, primer, and paint resulted in a really nice fairing. Another benefit is the back of the fairing doubles as a flap stop.

The wing root fairings were made by Jeff Garrett and he sells them. He made molds from the fairings on the Czech Sport Cruiser - which just so happen to use the exact same wings as the 601/650...(since they used to be the Zenith build company in Europe) they are absolutely awesome and a PERFECT fit. If anyone is interested in them, send me an email to brian.manlove@twc.com and I will send you Jeff's phone number.

Brian, I really like the Blue accents on the cowl, deck and fairings!

Brian, very nice paint and fairings! Need to learn more about how you made those. Regards, Dave

I second the request for more fairing info.  Looks great!  Any idea when we'll see a first flight?

I like your wing fairings!

Do you have any suggestions in making them?

Coming together isn't it?! That's a nice metalic blue. Ford blue? ;-)
