Hey John - was thinking maybe next mission is to find a scenic road to land on,(and get the photos for the album) i have been a passenger with a group of flyers some years ago who landed on one of the national highways and parked up in a layby for a couple of hours. (yes i have the photos, but best they don't see the light of day) will have to practice a tarmac landing tho, not landed JRT on tarmac yet.

had to ring parks and reserves manager for permission, no drama though all he wanted were some marshalls with fluro vests to warn park users that aircraft were going to be landing. on leaving we organised a start up and warm up area clear of the public then we took off out over the sea so as not to fly over residential areas, we appreciate the ability to fly in here and expose our sport to a section of the public who would not usually get up close to aircraft and talk with the owners.google earth>S 44.22.57.25 - E 171.14.32.69, cheers.

If I landed in a park the FAA would be down my throat and it would be on the national news....

You NZ guys keep on showing us the fun stuff!

would loved to be able to get the old girl into the queue at KFC or Maccas drive through, darn fence in the way. got to make the most of these photo ops. this photo taken when we first arrived, before the crowds showed up, i think lots of people were amazed that we had landed in the park. eighteen aircraft were parked up there for a couple of hours before we took off and continued our fly around for the day
