Hi Terry,

Yes, for sure the first time around being a plans builder and finishing up someone else project is NOT the easiest way to go. Nonetheless, my 701 flies real nice and I experimented with lots of interesting mods.

Regards,

Norm

Awe, thank you, I was some wondering about that.  Looks as if your first 701 build was a bit more complicated than mine, but sure seems like a fine machine!  Much appreciated....

Hi Terry,

Final touch is making sure the triangular part is riveted to the floor (or whatever) so it wont move anymore (elevator control).

You're then good to go !

Regards,

Norm.

Hi again,

Check the photo. you cut the tube and insert a tube in a tube so rotation for aileron does not mean moving the elevator control anymore. John F Truncale has photos of the modification on this site.

Hey Norm, can you direct me to any specifics and/or photos of the fix?

Thanks Norm, You are actually the second person that has mentioned this type of issue.  I guess I had better look at the mods.  I will let you know if I am smart enough to figure it out.  Thanks again so much appreciated!

Hi Terry,

while you have all the controls on hand, lookup the way to divise the aileron/flaps to elevator controls. You won't regret that you did it !  If you don't do it, there is cross control input when you go to full aileron deflection your elevator cables with either bend or go real slack. Even if you adjust it, at some point the wire will either be too loose or too tight. Just a tought.

Regards,

Norm
