I bought a truckload of WW parts and Corvair engines. I'm thinking about using one for my 95% complete XLB. After pricing all the parts and machining required, I don't think I would save much money over using an aircraft engine...still thinking about it. My 601HDS is Jabiru 3300 powered.

I just finished watching the disassembly and part one assembly WW DVDs. I will read the conversion manual this weekend.

I have to say that while the pride of both ownership and accomplishment that we all enjoy from building our aircrafts is second to none, the added joy of flying an engine that you also built has value...even if it costs close to what an aviation engine would cost. Also, you can't beat the OH costs of the corvair option.

I own all the parts...moving towards a WW/5th bearing plant.
