Standard - per plans elevator trailing edge is ugly. Hard to make it straight. Newer CH750 trailing edge looks much better but involves bending aluminum...
Also 0.016 is too flimsy ...0.020 is a much better choice.

Hi Raymond,

Yes it really looks much better but it is also straight and much harder to ding. As to the trimming of the plane, I'll have to get back to you on that. I should be finished with the modification by next saturday morning and then I'll take the 701 up for a spin.

The CH750 elevator is made this way and does not suffer from trim related problem that I'm aware of... I don't know why the 701 should... I've also redone the whole trim tab thing on the passenger side...More photos to come soon.

Hi Norman, this looks much better than trying to straighten out the original design.Just to cross check with you has this mod improved your abilty to trim the plane better.I am keen to go this route as well.easy now to do as am scratch building and will be fitting the 912 ULS motor.
