So far so good, we have plenty of snow although right now it is raining.
The 701 is one of the best performing (STOL) ski planes I've seen. I'd bet that in tail dragger configuration it would beat all the other planes on skis. Now it suffers a bit from the tricycle gear, especially on very soft or wet snow when its hard to get the nose ski off the ground and also on rough packed snow, which is tough on the landing gear, especially the nose..
On the other hand, the tricycle configuration makes the plane easy to handle.
