Broke bungie during taxi over rough pavement. No fraying seen during preflight. No prop strike as there was about 6 inches of clearance.

Flew for the first time after installing the Steel Bungie. Taking the nosegear load off the rudder makes this a totally different airplane in flight. Highly recommended.

Totally agree, Norman.  Steel Bungie ordered.

Hi Patrick,

Viking steel bungie next ??? I gave it a try ... Works marvellous. One less thing to worry about ! Still 181 hours is not bad for a normal bungie. Only drawback is when this happens far away from base. Good thing clearance was there because a prop strike away from home is NO FUN AT ALL !

Regards,

Norm

181 hours on the Hobbs, Darryl.  Heat may have been a factor.  I'd landed and waited in line for fuel, then talked to some people for a bit before taxiing back to the hanger over some rough pavement.

How many hrs on the bungee Pat?

Home. Rough patch of pavement on my hangar row. Knew exactly what happened. Glad it happened at home base, instead of someplace far away.

Uh oh! Did this happen back at home or San Marcos?
