Dave

The strobes quit working so rather than dismantling the wing tip I decided to make a storage area.  I put my survival gear out there.  The sleeping bags, blankets, coats and dried food don't weigh much.   It is a lot more accessible than under the back seat.  It also moved my CG forward for when I have people in the back seat. I stole the idea from a 701 I saw a few years back.

This is at Silver Salmon Creek on the west side of Cook Inlet.  I do a lot of off airport landings.  The condition of the beach requires experience and local knowledge.  The plane handles fine on gravel and gravel.  I have installed over sized tires..

Hey Bill great pics, smile says it all!   Where are you and how do you find landing and take off on sand?
