Haven't gotten to use it much but the door works great. It's fast and relatively quiet, and it doesn't require any changes to the building since it's essentially free standing. The bi-folds just took up too much headroom, and were way more expensive.

This is that video of the freestanding door:

No special consideration with the concrete either. The door just attaches directly to the slab with standard expansion bolts. Their site is www.hpdoors.com.

Yep, it's mainly a cantilever. It never cantilevers the whole weight because the door pulls in as it goes up. They've got  a video on their web site where one builder put the door up before the hangar, so it's just a big concrete slab with nothing but that door on it. That video's a great way to see how the door operates because there's nothing to limit the view. Fantastic people to work with too. This is a picture of mine when the hangar was still going up. The door operated via a generator then, because there wasn't electricity to the hangar at that point.

Looks nice...is that a Higher Power door?  I like the concept of a free standing (cantillever?) type door!
