After removing baffle as part of 100 mx engine service/inspection I discovered that one of the air inlet bolts was gone! The inlets on this side of the engine have never been removed since factory assembly.

Lee,the newer production engines come with Nord-Lock washers under those bolt heads.  So will be using same thing.

Things that make you go hmmmm.

So far on this inspection, I've discovered a missing internal snap ring which retains the fuel pressure regulator into the right side injector block.  Today, I discovered (and recovered) the missing bolt from the air inlet tube. Evidently it had backed out and was laying alongside the tube flange.  Both these discoveries were not maintenance induced by the owner, but were on a factory new engine with 99. 9 hours on it.  I can understand the cracking of the baffle, maybe even to some degree the bolt backing out.  I have a more difficult time with the missing internal snap ring!   Keep up and on with preflights and maintenance inspections boys and girls.
