2011 Zenith Southwest owners fly-in at Kern Valley (L05)
About a dozen airplanes flew into L05 for the Southwest owners fly-in at Kern Valley organized by Rick Lach. The airport is within walking distance of the Kern River. Rental cars are available for trips into town or sightseeing. The Kern River is famous for rafting and other water sports.
We camped at the field's campground and ate at the field’s restaurant and spent hours around the campfire, talking aviation.
On Saturday, some of us took a side trip to a dirt strip in Kelso Valley (CN37).
A good time was had by all. Thanks Rick for planning this event.
