Hi.

Thank you for your compliment
The engine results(comes) from a BMW 1100R bumped with a low(weak) mileage.
The first work was to spot(locate) and to delete(eliminate) the useless electric cords. It is a fuel injection engine and I needed canner the computer and its elements (see photo on my page)
This engine has a peculiarity it has two pumps with oil, one in pressure for the driving circuit and one without pressure for the circuit cooling. I installed(settled) probes on each of the circuits to have the information in cabins.
After numerous tests on a bench on the ground, I increased several times the dimension(size) of the radiator of oil until hold(retain) the current dimension(size).
The reducer results(comes) from TAKEOFF in Germany ( takeoff-ul.de ). He(it) is very renowned in the field of ulm in Europe.

The theoretical weight is 64 kg. Personally I have never known which was the real weight of the engine ROTAX and others you never can tell if all the accessories are understood(included) in the weight.
At the moment my STOL 701 does not fly I have to end wings. It has been three years since I began the construction. I hope to end it before summer, 2016.

I saw on your page the works that you with realized on your hood, you understand the difficulties which we can have!!!!

Bests regards

Guy

Hi,

That engine is a BMW motorcycle conversion, right ? Your cowling is so nice, I'm jealous !

Has your engine been tested ? How heavy or light ? Where does the conversion kit come from ?

Please, more info... I too run a converted engine. Subaru EA-81 with a gearbox. Very smooth and simple.

Regards,

Norm
