The 601 HDS was built by my dad, Don Chapman, with my assistance, and first flew 1999.

mid 2021: Don damaged it; parted it out... had 22 good years with it.

    Peter, I had almost forgotten about writing those articles. I not only installed the 1080 bungee but only installed ONE bungee on each of the main gear of my CH 601 HD. That eliminated the STIFF gear situation and provided a better ride. I just replaced the nose gear bungee for the second time in 20 years -  800 hrs. I plan to replace the main gear single bungees at my annual condition inspection this month. I operate normally on paved runways ( on grass once in a while ), but don't know what that may have to do with the service I've gotten. I'm satisfied with operating with a single 1080 on each main gear.
