Wing rear Chanel secure point

So, to secure the rear Chanel to the extruded bracket, a hole has to be cut in the lower skin.

I have seen notches from the inner trim edge.
Has anybody cut a round hole and inserted some sort of plug?

Anybody want to share what they did that worked well?
