Performance is great. Gets off the ground quickly. Uses about 4 gallons per hour. Cruise about 78-80 mph at 2800 RPM, but keep it around 2700 RPM for leisure cruise.

A year ago I bought a 701 with the 260i engine. It had about 105 hours, now it is up to 140 hours. No problems, runs fine. I'm not sure if it an early version, I suspect it is a later model. The only minor problem was an oil leak at the Hall sensors because the O-rings were too small. There is another thread about that.

Chris, the engine is a 2015 model, 17th week and eighth off the line.

UL engines and 100LL --- the general consensus (best I can tell) is that not to run it as a matter of routine. If you do have to use it, try to cut the fuel with a mix of unleaded fuel while maintaning appropriate AKI rating. If you absolutely have to use 100LL on occasion I think it will not be an issue. However if you use it routinely it will require more frequent oil changes. (use non-synthetic oil) and since CHTs run cool on UL engines and may not get hot enough to burn off lead deposits, maybe expect some problems along those lines.

Chris, what makes you think it is an early model engine? The serial number on the engine block will tell you the manufacture year/month/line number. Have you gone to the UL Power website? Lot of info regarding the engines including the UL260i. The engine info specs 97 hp @ 3300 rpm / 85 hp @ 2800 rpm.

FYI...I'm running a 350iS and though I had some "teething" issues (2011 manufacture date), UL has continued to make improvements overall to their engine/systems and the tech documentation keeps getting more refined. I assume the same was/is true with the UL260.

Good luck with your decision!
