Heat gun has no effect on the glue - so what's the answer for removing the labels and the left on glue from your new piece of metal?

When building my 801 I used lacquer thinner, soak the label for awhile then peel off, clean residue with a rag and more lacquer thinner!

Found carb cleaner worked even better than lawyer thinner, less residue and quicker. Moisten label, let sit for 10-15 seconds,

lift and wipe.

I use Goo gone it is a pump jell. Let it set for about 10 min. Then peel off and wipe the rest off. It works great. Some of the doubled up labels have to be done twice.
Ps after you remove the sticker, mark it with a felt pen.
I found that "Goof-Off" did the best and quickest job for me. The fumes are a little strong though.

Acetone! it even removes all the markings on the aluminum. Also if you used the Cortec Anti-Corrosion fro Zenith and you are for some reason attempting to take something apart or just need to clean up a spill, Acetone also softens that up as well.

I tried carb cleaner from a spray can I got at wal mart . It worked pretty good.

Just a word of caution MEK is a known Carcinogen.

Use a piece of cloth saturated with Acetone. Saturate the sticker several times, wait 2 to 3 minutes and peal the sticker off. Wipe remaining glue off with same Acetone.
Denatured alcohol worked for me. Soaked with towel a few seconds and usually peeled off.

Acetone on a rage. Soak the lable with wet Acetone rage, leave to there for 5 mins. Then remove lable. Use cloves.

There are less sticky labels for sale out there Zenith people.

Lacquer thinner.  Less toxic than MEK.  One application for label, one application for residue.  Use spray bottle, syringe, or just pour it.  Works great.

I have always been a fan of using the least toxic solvent that gets the job done correctly and in the least time .

I use mineral spirits and a rag. Let it soak in a few seconds. Those room keys from the hotels are priceless as scrapers and do not mark the materials. Very quick.
