Part of installing the engine, which I'm doing now, is getting parts of the electrical system installed.

For those you further ahead than me, I'm just wondering where you installed components. For example, have you found it better to have the switches for lights in the panel, or on the center console? Where did you mount your + and - buses? They need to be somewhere that's easy to get to in the future.

It helps in designing my system to see how others have done it. Then I can get ideas, take what I like, and design my own.

THanks

I did the EAA sportair electrical workshop prior to doing my electrical.  That really helped me get a good plan together for how I wanted everything to lay out and function.  I also made a paper panel panel mockup and put it in the cockpit then ran through common procedures to see what worked and what didn't.  After I was satisfied with that I built it.  I think you will find a lot of variation in electrical layout.  The important thing is to make sure the layout will make your common motions and procedures efficient and comfortable.....    just my two cents.
