Source of 2" square steel beams

All,

Does anyone have a source (store / part #) of the 2" square steel beams (painted red) used in the rudder workshop and seen in factory photos?

I've checked Home Depot, Lowes, and a Tractor Supply company when I've been in the neighborhood and none have them, but I'm also not sure how to describe what I'm looking for.  The closest I found were some 1" square fence posts, but TSC didn't have them in 2".

I know 2x4s are an option, but it's difficult to find them perfectly straight and get them to stay perfectly straight with life in a garage.

I bought mine from this place http://www.metalsdepot.com/ I bought 4 4ft beams for $70 shipped. Probably could have found a steel shop to do it cheaper but it was easy and exactly what I wanted.

That's great, thanks!  "Easy and exactly what I wanted" are... well, exactly what I wanted.

It also gives me something intelligent to ask for: 2" square steel tube.

That site is amazing, I had no idea there were so many ways to make tubes! Different shapes, thicknesses, colors.....

Check with a welding and fabrication shop.  They use a lot of it. I see you live in a Chicago suburb so you may need to travel a few miles west to a farming community.

I've got half a dozen nicely painted 2" inch square steel beams in my hangar (located at Shelbyville Municipal Airport-GEZ) and would like to get rid of them. I had thought about keeping them for my next project but my better half says "over her dead body" regarding the latter :-). I'd be willing to give these away to another builder if anyone is interested in driving to the Indianapolis area to pick them up.

I used vinyl downspouts for rain gutters...it worked great and they are lightweight, ding proof and square!!
