Does anyone know how to properly install the gears in a 4001 mag? Mine was not operating so i toke it apart but i don't know how the gears were set. Found capacitor wire loose.

I'll give it a shot; I'm assuming based on your profile (Continental - other) that it's a four cylinder TCM engine. It's not clear from your question whether the gears you're referring to are internal to the mag or the mag gear that meshes with the accessory case gear. Maybe these three pages from the TCM O-240 operator and maintenance manual x30094 will help.

This may be one of those times you get an A&P to show you how to install and time the mag to the engine.

Stan, I need to know how to put in the internal gears. I thank you for the timing info. I have called around and nobody works on these mags anymore. I guess i will look around for a used slick 4301. Thanks again.
