I have noticed that a lot of sample POH's for the 701 mention half flaps...... The control supplied with my kit has two positions, Full flaps and no flaps.... Anyone have any answer to this.Has it changed since 03

The older 701s had I believe 3 flap positions, I think full was 25 or 30 degrees, unsure of this number as I have been unable to get this answered positively. Look at some of the older pictures.

When the design changed to 1100 lbs the flap system changed to 16 degress max. flap. and only one flaps = full down position is available. I have the original figures and they are 0, 15 and 30 degrees.

I emailed ZAC about this, posted many questions, still not fully addressed.

Some have said you really dont want more flap especially at full gross.
Many GA aircraft went thru this "progress" to lesser flap availability.
With less flap. the Vfe figure can be increased. (but it has not been changed on the 701 design- except for the europe spec. Vfe is 55 kts - those aircraft are built to meet BCAR-S requirements)
My old Cessna 150a had 40 deg. and I used it extensively.
I'm happy with the current settings.

I fly an old model 701 it has three flap possitions. I take off with 15 degrees but in tight places I land with 30 degrees. The control feeling really changes with the extra flaps and nice landings are a challenge. Also go-arounds are not so easy. I would guess that all those factors made it somewhat undesireable so they just changed the whole setting. Jason
Landing with full (30degr.) flap, and landing with (the new) full flap 16degr.------- is it a BIG differences in landing speeds and roll-out? If it is, I would maybee seek for the 30 flap config...
